Dr. Kanchan Kumar Srivastava born on 25th February, 1972 Sultanpur, U.P, obtained his B.Sc. (Ag) and M.Sc. Ag. (Hort.-Fruit Science) degree from NDUAT, Faizabad, U.P. and Ph.D. (Hort- Fruit Science) from Institute of Agricultural Sciences, B.H.U. Varanasi. He is recipients of Junior Research Fellowship (ICAR), 1995, and UGC Award after attaining first rank in Research Entrance Test of BHU. Dr. Srivastava is a recipient of Rajbhasba Gaurav Award (2015) for writing original scientific book in Hindi, Young Scientist Associate Award (2012, SIEMAT, Bioved) and best DUS test centre award 2010-11.

Dr. Srivastava started his career as Assistant Professor at SKUAST-K, Srinagar, J&K in 2001 and joined as Senior Scientist in Fruit Science at ICAR-CITH, Srinagar in 2008 and joined as, Principal Scientist in 2014. Dr Srivastava’s field of specialization is Tree Architecture Management, Fruit Crop Improvement. He has been Principal Investigators of 22 External and internal funded projects. Dr. Srivastava has released 04 sweet cherry, 05 walnut, 01 apricot varieties and also collected good numbers of Malus, Pyrus, Prunus and Ambri apple genotypes, added in National Active Germplasm Sites Repository.

Dr Srivastava developed the efficient tree architecture techniques i.e. Espalier and Vertical axis (Single axis) for Ultra High Density Planting of apple and Rejuvenation techniques for old and senile almond orchards. Divisive the DUS descriptors for testing of pome fruits (apple and pear) and stone fruits (sweet cherry and apricot). During his carrier he has published more than 80 research papers in National and International Scientific journals, 03 scientific books and dozen extension bulletins in English, Hindi and Urdu.
